ALAMOSA - The Splashland Hot Springs Pool will host its 10th Annual Benefit Sprint Triathlon on Sept. 7.

It is a USA Triathlon-sanction event.

The course will be a 3 ½-mile run, a 10-mile bike ride and a 400-yard swim.

The purpose of the triathlon is to raise funds to purchase equipment for the disabled. That includes non-slip flooring, a pool veranda and to raise awareness of healthy lifestyles and habits.

There will be 13 age groups for male, female and team divisions.

Splashland is looking for sponsorships for the event. The sponsorship levels include $500 for gold, $300 for silver and $150 for bronze. Sponsors will have their name or logo on posters, Facebook, the Splashland web page, newspapers, e-blasts, radio ads and they will be on the back of shirts.

Sponsorships will help cover costs for t-shirts, insurance, awards, advertising, timing and bib numbers.

To sponsor the events, make the check payable to Splashland Sprint Triathlon at 5975 Griego Road, Alamosa, Colo. 81101.
