Southwest Region Migrant Education Program: A heartfelt thank you to all Adopt a Family sponsors

ALAMOSA – As the holiday season ends, the Southwest Region of Colorado’s Migrant Education Program (MEP) reflects on the incredible generosity and community spirit that makes our work possible. Each year, we are fortunate to witness the kindness of individuals, businesses, and organizations that come together to support migrant students and families, especially during the Christmas season. Sponsors and donors help us provide gifts, offer holiday meals, and create community connections.

This year we were able to bring extra cheer and hope to 222 children and families thanks to the compassion of our local sponsors and donors. Your donations help us provide not only the essentials, but also opportunities for joy and connection during the holidays. Your thoughtfulness and generosity provided beautiful memories for our families experiencing hardships, especially for some migrant families who are often separated from extended family and friends.

For many migrant families, the holidays can be difficult. Long work hours, limited access to resources, and the stress of frequent relocation mean that providing for loved ones can feel overwhelming. This is where the generous support of our sponsors comes in.

As we look toward the new year, we are excited about the opportunities ahead to continue supporting migrant students in our region. Your donations make it possible to offer educational support, enrichment programs, and family services year-round. We encourage anyone who would like to contribute or get involved to reach out and join us in making the next holiday season even brighter for our migrant families.

We wish you a Happy New Year. Thank you for helping us make this season a little brighter for those who need it most.
