ALAMOSA – The Monte Vista High School girls golf team began the 2025 season by finishing in sixth place at the Swink Invitational Monday at the La Junta Municipal Golf Course.
The Lady Pirates finished with a team score of 332. They were led by Reagan Futrell who finished in 16th place with a 109. Ellaree Rockey was 20th with a 111, Jiera Sanchez tied for 21st with a 112, Krissa Padilla was 30th with a 112, and Evie Hinds tied for 40th with a 127.
Rye won the tournament with 275, followed by Fowler with 307. Vanguard and Rocky Ford tied for third with 325 apiece, and Swink was fifth with 329.
Vanguard’s Lily Blanchard was the medalist with an 83.
Monte Vista’s next action will be on April 15 at the Montezuma-Cortez Invitational. The tournament will take place at Conquistador Golf Course.
