The Del Norte boys 4x400-meter relay went into last week's 2021 CHSAA Class 2A State Track and Field Championships seeded 16th overall, and finished 17th overall following the event's Day 2 preliminary heat races. Unable to qualify for the Day 3 final, the Tigers clocked a time of 3 minutes, 58.75 seconds. Overall, DNHS' boys totaled 16.5 points and left Jeffco Stadium and Lakewood in 22nd place.

Managing to first pass and then keep Meeker High at bay during the anchor leg of the 2021 CHSAA State Track and Field Championships' Class 2A Boys' 4x400-meter relay, Del Norte's Tigers ranked 17th overall following the event's Day 2 preliminary heat races. DNHS clocked 3 minutes, 58.75 seconds and the Cowboys a 4:00.80, but neither qualified for the Day 3 final.

Del Norte's Kaeci Madrid clears the bar during last week's 2021 CHSAA State Track and Field Championships' Class 2A Girls' pole vault competition inside Jeffco Stadium in Lakewood. Madrid managed to clear a best height of 9 feet, 2 inches, and ultimately placed second in the specialty — helping the Lady Tigers total 8.60 points and place 31st overall at the meet.

Del Norte's Logan Cestone gets some San Luis Valley love from fellow Class 2A Boys' high jump entrant Ben Tailleur of Centauri during last week's 2021 CHSAA State Track and Field Championships inside Jeffco Stadium in Lakewood. Clearing a best height of 5 feet, 8 inches, Cestone tied Sedgwick County's Tate Dille for sixth place, earning the Tigers 3.5 team points toward an eventual grand total of 16.5, enough to earn 22nd place overall. Tailleur, meanwhile, managed to clear 5-6 and finished tied for 16th; the Falcon boys, however, would total 42 points and place fourth when all was said and done.
