The ASU Wind Symphony, directed by Dr. James M. Lind, will share the stage with the SLV Community Band and Centauri High School Band. Selections to be performed include music by Randall Standridge, Tyler Grant, and many others. The concert is designed to excite audiences of all ages. There will be high-energy songs as well as thought-provoking and lyrical songs.
Dr. Kerry Hart, Director of the SLV Community Band, told the Valley Courier, "When members of the SLV Community Band were presented with a chance to combine their musical talents with Centauri High School music students and the student members of the Adams State University Wind Symphony, they embraced the opportunity enthusiastically.
"The concert on March 10 will showcase some of the musical talent we have in the Valley that runs the gamut from young beginning music students, college students, and the life-long musicians in the SLV Community Band. This concert will be a valued musical experience for the students at Centauri High School and will undoubtedly be a heartwarming experience for the audience as they listen to and observe an ideal musical collaboration."
Brian Garrison, Director of Music at Centauri High School, said the concert is "A celebration of music and community, bringing together performers from all levels. Organized with the help of Adams State University, the SLV Community Band, and Centauri's music program, this event showcases the power of collaboration in the arts. Musicians from different backgrounds — students, educators, and community members — will share the stage, creating an inspiring experience for performers and the audience. This concert highlights how music unites people, fostering creativity and connection while strengthening the San Luis Valley's musical culture. Don't miss this event.
