ALAMOSA – The All-League basketball teams for the Intermountain and Southern Peaks Leagues were announced in late march.
All-Intermountain League
Centauri dominated both the boys and girls All-IML teams after both teams won their respective titles.
For the boys, the Falcons had five selections and were led by Co-Players of the Year Carson Bagwell and Troy Sowards. Both were also first team selections along with Jace Haslett.
The remaining two Centauri players, Carson Shawcroft and Sean Jarvies were both honorable mention.
Two other players from the San Luis Valley, Monte Vista’s Azariah Hurtado and Alamosa’s Victor Zepeda, were both first team selections.
Centauri also had five selections on the girls team. Braelyn Tucker, Hannah Curtis, Jsoelyn McCarroll and Rylie McCarroll were all on the first team, while Jocelyn Jarvies was honorable mention.
Alamosa had three selections. Morgan Ortega and Aubrey Rothermich were first team, and Jaelin Garcia was honorable mention.
Monte Vista placed two on the All-League team. Allessah Archuleta was a first team selection, and Daylin Castro was honorable mention.
Monte Vista coach Shawna Larson was the girls Coach of the Year.
Class 2A Southern Peaks League
Sanford had the most players on both the Class 2A All-Southern Peaks League after both teams were league champions.
For the boys, the Mustangs were led by Ben Sittler who was the boys Player of the Year. Trason Gartrell was a first team selection, Ben Faucette was second team, and Travis Canty was honorable mention.
Bryce Crowther was the boys Coach of the Year.
Del Norte had three All-League players. Tytus Atencio was first team, LaShawn Trujillo was second team, and Noah Bailey was honorable mention.
Center also had three selections. Jaiden Martinez was named to the first team, Yanixan Padilla was second team, and Max Almanza was honorable mention.
Sargent had two All-League players in Lucas Garcia, who was first team, and Fernando Venzor, who was honorable mention.
The Lady Mustangs were led by league Most Valuable Player Brooklynn Reynolds. Shasta Bond was on the first team, Claire Crowther and Brinlyn Smith were second team, and Avery Koenig was honorable mention.
Keith Caldon was the girls Coach of the Year.
Sargent had three selections. Angelise Garcia and Kandace PArgin were both on the first team, and Makenzie Consaul was honorable mention.
Center also had three players on the All-League team. Presley Wilson was first team, Emiliana Valdez was second team, and Ximena Miranda was honorable mention.
Del Norte also had three selections. Emma Parra was placed on the first team, Baylie Laymon was second team, and Kaitlyn Velasquez was honorable mention.
Class 1A All-Southern Peaks League
Sierra grande had the most players on both the boys and girls teams.
For the boys, Jadyn Martinez was the league’s Most Valuable Player. The Panthers had two first team selections in Aron Ojeda amd Rolando Najera. Ayden Lopez was a second team player, and Kobe Mizokami was honorable mention.
Edgar Garcia was the boys Coach of the Year.
Sangre de Cristo had three selections in Kolby Shellabarger who was first team, Jaron Mason who was second team, and Deagon Rogers who was honorable mention.
Centennial also had three All-League players in Jose Molina, who was on the first team, Jeremy Sandoval, who was second team, and Zach Jacquez, who was honorable mention.
Creede had two selections in first team player Jaxson Fazio, and honorable mention selection Charlie Heinrich.
Antonito had two selections in Rylan Trant, who was on the second team, and Everett Holloway, who was honorable mention.
Moffat’s sole selection was Chase Shellabarger, who was honorable mention.
The Sierra Grande girls were led by Jaylyn Quezada, who was the league’s Most Valuable Player.
Ahlea Garcia and Eneria Quintana were first team, and Yazmin Molina was second team.
Centennial three selections in Anai Median on the first team, Laila Garcia on the second team, and Amaya Garcia who was honorable mention.
Tomas Maestas was the girls Coach of the Year.
Creede also had three selections. Lasmin Laing was first team, Angel Edmonds was second team, and Emma Jenkins was honorable mention.
Moffat had two All-League players including Shauna Pollard on the first team, and Kendra Pollard who was honorable mention.
Sangre de Cristo also had two selections. Jaydra Cordova was placed on the second team, and Haylee Freel was honorable mention.
Antonito had two selections. Shyanne Martinez was second team, and Destanaya Quintana was honorable mention.
