ALAMOSA – The top-ranked Alamosa High School boys wrestling team won the Clash at the Coliseum Tournament this past weekend at McGee Park in Farmington, N.M.
The Mean Moose won 10 dual meets to take the tournament title. They opened the tournament with a 78-6 win over Durango, then they defeated Monument Valley (Ariz.) 74-6. Alamosa then defeated Bayfield 63-11, Ganado (Ariz.) 76-6, Soroco 70-0, Chinle (Ariz.) 77-0, and Montezuma-Cortez 78-0.
In the championship round on Saturday, the Mean Moose defeated Montrose 60-17, Farmington (N.M.) 64-18, and Aztec (N.M.) 41-29
Going undefeated in the tournament were Jeremiah DeLaCerda (106), Anthony Meder (120), Uriah Martinez (138), Daniel Martinez (144), Tony Griego (150), Max Dokson (215), and Aaron Jordan (285).
Alamosa will next compete at the Les Mattocks Invitational at Abraham Lincoln High School in Denver on Saturday. The Mean Moose has won this tournament the past three seasons.
