CRESTONE — The Salida Circus will have an outreach fundraiser on Saturday, March 22, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at 2860 Carefree Way in Crestone. 

SAN LUIS VALLEY — Trek with local experts to the Alamosa, Baca, and Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuges. Safaris are free and appropriate for novices as well as experienced adventurers.

The Adams State Music Department will be hosting a Summer Piano Institute for high school pianists this summer, June 8-13.

ALAMOSA — Society Hall is excited to feature Stillhouse Junkies on March 21.  Acoustic adventurers Stillhouse Junkies explore the worlds between roots, bluegrass, Texas swing, blues and rock.

SAN LUIS VALLEY — SOIL Sangre de Cristo is accepting applications for their Microloan Program which awards 0% interest flexible loans to farmers and food producers who might otherwise have difficulties accessing credit. 

ALAMOSA — Melanzana, an outdoor apparel company based in Leadville opened a manufacturing facility in Alamosa in early 2024. The Colorado company has a retail store and manufacturing plant in Leadville and produces all its wildly popular clothing in Colorado.

CRESTONE — T Road Pub, a mainstay of nighttime entertainment, pizza and beer in Crestone has ceased operations. 

DEL NORTE — The Rio Grande Hospital Wellness Center is offering a free nutrition and cooking class on Thursday, March 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. 

FORT GARLAND — Dive into learning at Fort Garland Museum's Spring Break Camp on March 17-20.  

FORT GARLAND — Celebrate Women's History Month at the Fort on Thursday, March 13, at 6 p.m. when Mari Centeno’s presents, "Las Sufragistas: Latina Suffragists of the Borderlands." 

ALAMOSA — Followers of local artist Cindy Commeto are most familiar with her unique plein air style paintings in acrylic, drawn from the landscape surrounding her home in San Luis. But this year’s exhibit at Milagro’s Coffee House also puts Commeto’s talent in oil on display as, included in the collection, are paintings primarily of aspen done in her studio this winter.  

ALAMOSA – Once again, Society Hall is bringing musical talent that is on par with the best live music venues in the state and on Friday night, March 14, the stage will be graced by the Martin Gilmore Trio (MG3).  

ALAMOSA — During Women of Aviation Week, Eagle Air Med, part of Guardian Flight, is proud to recognize Jessica Meiris as a leader and integral team member for their Alamosa base. As a certified pilot, Meiris is part of just 5.5% of helicopter pilots in the United States who are women, breaking barriers and serving as a role model. 

ALAMOSA — For the past six years, Salazar Rio Grande del Norte Center at Adams State has been offering to the public, free of charge, the annual Rio Grande State of the Basin Symposium, a day-long event focused on a variety of factors that are impacting the state of the Upper Rio Grande Basin and the San Luis Valley. From its inception, the purpose of the symposium has been to assemble a group of professionals and community members to discuss the most crucial issues related to water in this region.  

ALAMOSA — Spark the Change Colorado, a volunteerism nonprofit dedicated to service and community health invites the public to its monthly speaker series, “Spark Speaker Series: Empowering Aging in Colorado.”  

ALAMOSA — Mrs. Hazel Petty, a lifelong resident of the San Luis Valley and currently a resident of Alamosa, will be 100 years old on March 18. 

ALAMOSA — The School of Visual and Performing Arts and the Department of Music at Adams State University invite everyone to a special joint concert on Monday, March 10. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in Richardson Hall Auditorium, located on the beautiful campus of Adams State University. Admission to the exciting musical extravaganza is free.  

SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS — Outdoor enthusiasts will once again be able to access Mount Lindsey, a privately owned 14er within the Blanca Massif.
