Local man dies in ATV crash

SAGUACHE COUNTY -- A Del Norte/Kansas man suffered injuries that later proved fatal while riding his ATV on Aug. 17 along Forest Road 675 near Poso Campground, according to a Saguache Sheriff's Office report by Deputy Nick Tolsma.

DEL NORTE -- The Class of 1965 gathered Aug. 8 for their 45th reunion celebration. Twenty-four class mates met at the old Del Norte High School around 7:15 a.m. to decorate a float for the parade.

Hecla expert reveals Creede mining plans

DEL NORTE -- Hecla Geologist Randy McClure last week presented a slide show and took questions at the Rio Grande County Museum about exploratory drilling currently being done north of Creede.
